FlowerWorld aims to be a responsible company and wherever possible we try to balance the demands of commerce with the needs of our environment and the responsibility we have to those we work with. From lasting relationships with growers and suppliers to everyday contact with our employees we understand our impact and the requirements of our environment.

We use recycled and recyclable products wherever possible and implement a segregation scheme during production to ensure that each classification of waste is disposed of correctly to avoid contamination. 85% of our used cardboard is recycled to remake our cardboard boxes with the remaining card sourced from 15% sustainable softwood from European Forests. All plastic is recycled and items which can’t be are donated and reused such as water butts or garden pots are donated to various Derby allotment organisations. Broken pallets are donated to a local steam engine charity.

This year we became Corporate Fellows of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and launched the first packet of seeds to be given away with a bouquet of flowers to support the trusts work and encourage bees into our gardens. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is dedicated to conserving the UK’s bumblebees through research, conservation and educational work and we’re delighted to support them. Please visit their website www.bumblebeeconservation.org for fascinating facts on bumblebees and what you can do to help. There’s also more information on our special Bumblebee Bouquet on our news site.
